To make your search easier, we’ll be providing you with some great picks—all that will be left is for you to find 2 to 4 players! Find the perfect set with our reviews for the bet cornhole boards. Reviews for the Best Cornhole Boards As a pastime that’s been around for generations and spread to all sorts of places, cornhole has a lot of names, some depending on the region. Here are a few: Tailgate Toss Baggo Hillbilly Toss Indiana Horseshoes Soft Horseshoes The last two are not so much of a mystery, considering cornhole plays very similarly to the traditional game of horseshoes, only, instead of a U-shaped piece of metal, you chuck a bag full of beans (or corn, or beads), and your target is not a stake, but a board and, more specifically, the hole in said board. It is a fairly popular game, a mainstay of tailgates and backyards across the country, and it’s not hard to see why: It does not require strength or dexterity; anyone who can aim and toss a 16oz bag across 30 feet, can play cornhole. It’s very much portable; a standard cornhole board is a mere 4′ x 2′, and sometimes smaller. This means you can set up a game just about anywhere: beaches, campgrounds, you name it. It’s safe: there are no hard or pointy parts. What You Need To Play As accessible a pastime as cornhole is, it is still a full-fledged sport with its own standards; governing bodies such as the American Cornhole Organization (ACO) set forth rules, organize tournaments and regulate teams. Per the official requirements, here’s what it takes to play: 1. Players: 2 for one-on-one play, 4 if is a team showdown. 2. Boards: If it is only 2 people playing, then you only need one board, and both players throw at it. For team play, 2 boards are required. A standard cornhole board should be made in plywood, measure between 47.5 and 48″ in length and be 23.5-24″ wide. Surface should be polished (paint and decals are allowed), so the bags don’t stick to the top, but they can’t slide too much. 3. Bags: 8 total, 4 per player or team. They should weigh between 15.75 and 16.25oz, and measure 6″ (no less than 5.75″) on each side. Although traditionally they were filled with corn or beans, most modern bags come with plastic beads inside, designed to not break down. The bag itself should be canvas, and in one primary color. This extends to the options we will be covering below, which means that, by selecting one of these, you’ll be ready to start playing in short order!
